Coach Curley Lambeau seemed very satisfied after the game, I found him sitting in a rocking chair, sleeping with a smile on his face.
The Green Bay Packers and Frankford Yellowjackets played to a scoreless draw on Thanksgiving Day, here in Philadelphia. While neither team put points on the board, everybody enjoyed the on-field smorgasbord, including turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cold beer, hot toddys, and of course, several dozen pies. There were many other delicious side dishes. And a wonderful cheese platter.
Official scorekeepers credited the teams with 17 yards of total offense for the game, and 189 cumulative napping minutes. Warm quilts, comfortable seating and quiet, festive background music ensured coziness for both teams.
Fans in attendance shared in the bountiful feast. Slippers were handed out at the gate. A game of cards will be played after more naps. Shhhh. No, shhhh.

Welcome to week eleven of the 1929 NFL season, the Packers have traveled by steam-ship up the Delaware River for a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Frankford Yellowjackets.
Coming off the short week and still down a few key players to injury, this could be a trap game for the Bays. The Yellowjackets look hungry.
First half highlights: Twelve turkeys consumed.
There is a chipmunk on the field! I repeat, chipmunk on the field!!! Ha! Someone find a camera.
Second half highlights: 18 pies consumed. Boob Darling eats 2.6 entire pies. Impressive.
I see someone stirring from a nap. [yawn] No don't yawn,,, you're making me... ahhhhh.
Packers driving the ball deep into enemy territory here near the end of the fourth. Lavvie Dilweg made a diving catch at the nine yard line, then laid down and covered himself in a blanket... and the refs blow the whistle for full time.
APPLESAUCE! Someone pass the applesauce, please.
Looks like this one will end in a scoreless tie. Packers still lead the NFL standings. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Packers (10-0-1) travel to Providence next weekend, then back to Chicago for the regular season finale.
